SACRAMENTO COUNTY-- A fire in a building near the corner of Ascot Avenueand Raley Boulevard sent a thick blanket of smoke over the area Friday Morning.

The fire was reported just after 2 a.m., but firefighters on the scenesay it may have been burning for an hour before it was spotted.

They say they believethe buildinghad been abandoned for at least 10 years. A pickup truck and grass near the building also burned.

Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department crews say at this point, they don't know yet if the fire was started by the truck driving on dry grass and spread to the building, or if it started in the building and spread to the truck.

No injuries were reported.
