BUTTE COUNTY, CA - The Butte County sheriff's deputies found 2,300 pounds of marijuana Wednesday after serving search warrants in to two different locations.

The first search took place at a residence on Little Ridge Road in Berry Creek. Deputies seized 724 marijuana plants, weighing 920 pounds. During the investigation, deputies found the owner, Jin Yik Tan, 45, was growing pot for commercial purposes, under the guise of Proposition 215.

Deputies arrested Tan for the cultivation and sale of pot.

The second search took place at a home on the 400 block of Onyett Road in Feather Falls. Deputies seized 689 marijuana plants, weighing 1,380 pounds. The suspect, Kae Chien Saeteurn, 54, was found inside the home armed with a handgun and a rifle. Deputies believe Saeteurn was growing pot for commercial reasons also.

Saeteurn was arrested for the growing and selling pot and being armed while committing a crime.

Both suspects were booked into Butte County Jail.
