FAIR OAKS, CA - A man arrested in connection to the death of an elderly woman Sunday night was arraigned Monday afternoon.

Moses Trotter, 32, was read the charges against him in his jail cell by judged because a medical condition kept him from being in court.

Trotter is accused of murdering Carole Strugis, 79, in her Fair Oaks home on the 7800 block of Olympic Way.

Sacramento County deputies said Trotter was seen leaving Strugis' home Sunday night covered in her blood.

Trotter is expected back in court Wednesday morning.
