FAIRFIELD, CA - Bail was set at half a million dollars at an arraignment Monday for a Fairfield church pastor accused of molesting five people.

Robert Ruark, 65, who preached at St. Timothy Orthodox Church, at 4593 Central Way, was arrested on Thursday after the clergy at the church called police.

The five victims, all adults now, claimed Ruark committed lewd acts on them when they were as young as 13 years old as far back as 1994, Fairfield police said.

A Solano County District Attorney said Ruark's bail was set high because he tried to dissuade one of the victims from talking.

If Ruark is released on bail the $500,000, he will have to wear a GPS monitor.

Ruark also received a stay away order from three of the victims; the district attorney said the two other victims will also be added to the order.

Ruark did not enter a plea at the arraignment. His preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 23 at 8:30 a.m.
