FOLSOM, CA - Forget New York or Paris. Folsom based accessories company Ada Collection is rolling out some of the most coveted pieces on the runway.

"We want to style women," founder Ada Komorniczak said. "We want women to feel good about themselves."

Ada Collection made Inc. Magazine's list of the nation's 5,000 fastest growing companies. Their revenue has grown nearly 800 percentin the pastthree years. Last year they made $2 million.

"I'm definitely proud. I definitely have a very strong team backing me up," Komorniczak said. "It's a lot of fun. I love coming to work."

Komorniczak and her husband Gaston run the chic company. They met while Komorniczak was studying abroad in Argentina and getting her MBA at Sac State.

"I wanted to learn Spanish. I wanted to learn about the culture," Komorniczak explained. "I came across the leather, the fashion, and I didn't know about it before."

Ada collection started as a handbag company in 2006, but then the recession hit.

"They (women) couldn't afford to bring in a new handbag for every single outfit," Komorniczak said. "However, they could have one outfit and style it lots of different ways."

Rather than give up, Komorniczak went back to the drawing board. Komorniczak focused on versatile accessories, incorporating leather into each of the luxe looks.

The pieces aresome of thehottest fashion accessories and they'refeatured in big name fashion magazines like Glamour and Redbook.

"Almost on a daily basis we have requests from magazines to feature our items," Komorniczak said.

Businesses weren't always knocking down her door though. After every rejection, Komorniczak grew more determined.

"Nordstrom, for example, they gave me a lot of great advice," Komorniczak said. "I went back, modified the collection and went forward and when I brought it back to them, they're carrying us now. So it's great."

Now, Ada Collection is available in about 2,000 stores in the country, including big name department stores like Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's.In the Sacramento area, stores like Krazy Mary's Boutique and The Pink House in East Sacramento have supported Komorniczak from day one.

The Folsom based showroom is closed to the public, but it's open for appointments.

Krazy Mary's sells her belts, including the wrap belt, which is one of Komorniczak's favorites.

"I think she just hit it right on the head with the classic wrap style," Krazy Mary's sales consultant Lindsey Brown said. "They never go out of style."

Ada Collection accessories are also a fashion staple next door at The Pink House.

"She has such a great eye for what she does," Peggy Orr, owner of The Pink House, said. "She uses quality products and her leather is unbelievable."

Komorniczak said people are surprised to learn Ada Collection is based in Folsom, rather than well known fashion meccas like Los Angeles, New York or Paris. She wants to people to know talented designers can come from anywhere.

"We're staying true to Folsom," Komorniczak said.

Komorniczak doesn't just want to accessorize women. She wants to dress them, too. She's now working on a clothing line to give women a complete head to toe look.
