Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith's daughter is intrigued by the emotions in the story, more than the sex
Get ready to see a lot more of Dakota Johnson in the year ahead.
The third-generation actress, 24, of course has the lead role as Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades of Grey (set to hit the big screen in February 2015). And now she's doing a fashion spread in the March issue of Elle mag, hitting newsstands on Feb. 18.
She explains to writer Stephen Rodrick that characters Anastasia and Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) "have this chemical pull to each other…. It allows both of them to do something that they are completely afraid of."
Johnson sounds pretty fearless when it comes to starring in the sexy tale. "I don't have any problem doing anything. The secret is I have no shame," she says.
But it wasn't the erotic bondage play in the book that interested in her most.
"Reading the book, I found myself more interested in the ways they were breaking each other down emotionally than the sex scenes. I think there's a part of a woman that wants to be the thing that breaks a man down."
