SACRAMENTO – Like the season for which they are crafted, springtime beers coax us out of winter and ready us for the approaching summer months. Winter cravings for darker, gut-warming stouts and barleywines give way to a call for lighter, lawn-mowing, house-cleaning, relax-on-the-patio beers with seasonally evocative flavors and aromas. From spicy, floral Saisons to sessionable pale ales and crisp, flavorful lagers, most of the region's craft breweries have fashioned a specific beer for the spring season.
