Calgary, AB (Sports Network) - Sam Gagner and Jordan Eberle scored and added
two assists apiece, leading the Edmonton Oilers to a 6-1 victory over the
Calgary Flames in this season's fifth installment of the Battle of Alberta at
Scotiabank Saddledome.
Taylor Hall and Ryan Smyth contributed a goal and an assist each, while Ales
Hemsky and Eric Belanger also scored for the Oilers, who snapped a three-game
losing streak overall and a nine-game losing streak against Calgary. Devan
Dubnyk made 21 saves in the victory.
Scott Hannan scored the only goal for the Flames, who failed to carry over
momentum from a 1-0 win over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday. Miikka
Kiprusoff was touched for five goals on 34 shots and Henrik Karlsson gave up
one goal on eight shots in defeat.
