Charleston, SC (Sports Network) - Ryan Anderson's lay up with less than a
minute to play proved to be the difference, as the New Orleans Hornets
defeated the Charlotte Bobcats, 90-87, to claim their third straight victory
of the preseason.
Anderson scored two of his 14 points on the lay up to give New Orleans the
lead. Bobcats center Brendan Haywood had a chance to tie the game when he was
fouled with six seconds to play, but he missed both free-throw attempts.
Charlotte then fouled Al-Farouq Aminu, who connected on both of his free
throws to account for the final margin.
Anthony Davis, the No.1 pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, finished with 12 points
and nine rebounds for New Orleans, while Lance Thomas and Roger Mason Jr. both
contributed double-digit scoring efforts off the bench.
Byron Mullens and Ben Gordon each scored 15 points apiece for the Bobcats,
who have dropped their last two games, both to the Hornets.
