Provo, UT (Sports Network) - Brandon Davies was one of a pair of players to
score more than 20 points for BYU, as the Cougars breezed past Texas-San
Antonio 81-62 at the Marriott Center.
Davies finished with 22 points and 10 rebounds while Tyler Haws put in 20
points for BYU (3-2) which ended a two-game losing streak.
Kannon Burrage led three players in double figures for UTSA (3-2) with 22
points. Michael Hale added 13 and Jeromie Hill tacked on 12 more.
BYU dominated in the first half shooting 55.9 percent from the floor
including 4-of-8 from beyond the arc to take a 48-28 lead into the locker
room.
The Cougars cooled to 46.2 percent shooting in the second half, but with
the Roadrunners converting on just 13-of-33 field goal attempts, were able
to coast to the win.
The Cougars were the benefactors of a 48-21 edge on the boards.
