RANCHO CORDOVA, CA - Sophomore sensation Jordan Roberson scored 33 points on Thursday night to lead the Cordova Lancers to their ninth straight win, beating the Laguna Creek Cardinals 74-65.
It seemed as if Roberson wouldn't miss. He even nailed a long-distance half court shot to end the first quarter, as the Lancers defeated the shorthanded Cardinals.
Laguna Creek played without nationally their nationally heralded junior Malik Pope, who did not dress after missing a team practice.
Andre Lewis was the leading scorer in Pope's absence for Laguna Creek, who scored a game high 35 points in the loss.
Cordova (10-6) will not play again until Jan. 11 when they visit Mira Loma. As for the Cardinals (9-7), they will have a quick turnaround, visiting Turlock on Friday.
