ALAMEDA, CA - Oakland coach Dennis Allen says his team's dominating defensive performance against the Kansas City Chiefs proves the Raiders are capable of shutting down opponents.

The key is doing it consistently.

The Raiders' much-maligned defense finally had a big-time performance in Sunday's 15-0 victory over the lowly Chiefs (2-12).

Oakland (4-10) held Jamaal Charles to 10 yards rushing on nine carries, harassed quarterback Brady Quinn all game and pitched a shutout for the first time in 10 years to snap a six-game losing streak since winning at Kansas City on Oct. 28.

The Raiders have two games left to prove they can play that type of football against other teams as well.
