SACRAMENTO, CA - Sacramento Kings rookie Thomas Robinson will experience his share of first experiences this season, but serving a two game suspension didn't figure to be one of them.

The NBA announced today that Robinson will be suspended without pay following an incident last night at Sleep Train Arena against the Detroit Pistons.

With ten minutes to play in the fourth quarter, Robinson's elbow connected with the throat of Jonas Jerebko, who quickly fell to the floor in pain. Robinson was issued a flagrant two penalty and ejected from the game.

Sacramento would win the game, defeating the Pistons 105-103.

Following the game, many of Robinson's teammates felt Jerebko flopped on the play and didn't think the incident would result in a suspension for the 21-year-old rookie out of Kansas.

Robinson was not available for comment following the game but instead went to Twitter to apologize for his actions:

"Apologize for my actions mistakes happen I take full responsibility lost my cool will never happen again," he tweeted.

Robinson's suspension isn't expected to be appealed and he'll miss Friday's home game against the San Antonio Spurs, as well as Sunday's game in Los Angeles against the Lakers.
