Nashville, TN (Sports Network) - Tennessee Titans quarterback Matt Hasselbeck
has been named the club's starter for Sunday's Week 8 matchup against the
Indianapolis Colts.
Titans coach Mike Munchak confirmed on Monday that Hasselbeck will make his
fourth consecutive start in place of Jake Locker, who is recovering from a
dislocation of his non-throwing shoulder which he suffered during Tennessee's
Week 4 loss to the Houston Texans.
Hasselbeck is 2-1 as the Titans' starter, including a 35-34 road victory over
the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, but Munchak reiterated that Locker will return as
the starter when he's ready play.
Munchak also announced that left tackle Michael Roos underwent surgery on
Monday morning to have his appendix removed.
Ross has started all 119 games since the Titans drafted him in the second
round -- 41st overall -- of the 2005 NFL Draft.
In other injury news, Munchak announced that linebacker Zac Diles broke his
right leg on Sunday and is expected to be placed on injured reserve.
Diles has accrued 11 tackles over six games -- one start -- in his first
season with the Titans.
