AUBURN, CA - Pruett Vineyard, owned by Auburn champion race race driver Scott Pruett and his wife Judy, scored 91 points from Wine Spectator for their Pruett Estate Syrah and Pruett Reserve Syrah.

"This is so exciting and just huge for us on a personal level as well as a community level," said Pruett.  "This is the first wine from the estate that we have had rated.  To score 91 points is both humbling and affirming.  To my knowledge this is the highest Wine Spectator rating received from this area of the Sierra foothills."

One of the most decorated road course racers in motorsports history, Pruett is the two-time defending points champion in the Grand-Am DP series.  When he and wife Judy began their own family vineyard several years ago, they were one of the first family wineries in the Auburn area.

"I don't care who or where you are, to score that high on your first estate release is an incredible accomplishment," said Pruett.

Pruett Vineyards is located on 50-plus acres overlooking Folsom Lake in Auburn.  All of the grapes in their Syrah wines are grown on the family property.  The couple are both involved in every aspect of the wine, from vine to bottle.
