Computer game 'Path of Exile' from Grinding Gear Games.
Nine months after the start of online action RPG Path of Exile's open beta, Grinding Gear Games publicly launched the game around 10am Wednesday.
The launch, being called version 1.0.0, includes a new character class (the Scion), challenge leagues that were unavailable during open beta, new gems, monsters, and areas (including the climactic conclusion to Act 3), new PvP game modes, and the ability to create and join Guilds. That exhaustive list is in addition to other changes, tweaks, and adjustments made to the game since its final open beta version. Also a part of this launch, Path of Exile 1.0.0 has also been made available via Steam in addition to being obtainable through the main Path of Exile website.
Path of Exile is a microtransaction-backed free-to-play title where players take control of one of seven character classes and find themselves banished for their past misdeeds to the dark fantasy world of Wraeclast. There, they encounter hundreds of species of opponents laden with loot and mysterious artifacts as they explore the abandoned continent.
