The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department has arrested two suspects in the murder of a 33-year-old man last week in Arden-Arcade.
Gilberto Esteban Cardona, 18, and a male juvenile were arrested Friday night, according to a press release from the sheriff's department. They are suspects in the Sept. 28 shooting death of Jesus Antonio Macias. The male juvenile was not named in the press release.
Sheriff's deputies found Marcias at about 11:30 p.m. Sept. 28 on the ground outside a gas station store in the 2100 block of El Camino Avenue. They were responding to a report of gunshots. Macias had been shot in the upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff's department.
The suspects are believed to have gang ties, but the shooting may not be gang related, sheriff's department detectives said. They said Macias may have been attacked inside the gas station store and the altercation spilled into the parking lot.
His murder remains under investigation.
