ANTELOPE, Calif. - An arsonist is believed to be behind the destruction of a little league snack shack in Antelope Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters said someone started the fire around 2:30 p.m. in a portable bathroom. The flames quickly jumped to the fully stocked snack bar nearby.
An estimated $40,000 worth of equipment and other items were lost in the fire, according to a spokesperson for the little league.
"Our snack bar is number one revenue making effort for the entire year," said Antelope Little League President Kimberli Heck. "It's what helps offset the costs for children's registration. It buys us equipment. It pays for fences."
No injuries were reported.
