DAVIS, CA - The victim of a skydiving accident in Davis Saturday evening was identified by authorities as 23-year-old Andrew Todd Cofer of Lodi.
The Yolo County Sheriff's Office said Cofer died when he was separated from his harness and canopy during a skydive at Sky Dance at the Yolo County Airport.
Cofer was found deceased about one mile southeast of the Sky Dance drop zone, sheriff's spokesperson Mark Parsons said. Cofer's skydiving equipment was located about one mile northeast of the drop zone,
Fellow skydivers and friends told the sheriff's department Cofer was experienced, having made more than 600 jumps.
Sheriff's investigators did not yet know how Cofer became separated from his gear.
