SACRAMENTO, CA - A judge quadrupled the bail to $4 million Monday for a convicted sex offender charged with forcing a 7-year-old girl into the trunk of his car in front of the child's mother.
Cedric Lain Holland, 25, faces charges of kidnapping to commit another crime and parole violation.

In the May 11 incident, the girl and her mother were walking in the area of 54th Street and 47th Avenue when a man stopped his car, grabbed the child and forced her into the trunk.
A short time later, the child escaped from the trunk unharmed.
Holland, who previously was convicted of molesting a 5-year-old girl, was arrested a week later at a home about two miles from the scene of the kidnapping.
In asking for the increased bail at Holland's arraignment Monday afternoon, Deputy District Attorney Shelly McGill called him a clear threat to the community.
Judge Delbert Oros agreed to the bail increase, pending a hearing June 5.
