AUBURN, CA - An Auburn man surrendered to local police detectives Friday on allegations of sexual assault and sexual battery, extortion by force of fear and distribution of child pornography, according to the Auburn Police Department.
Thomas Mitchell Hale's arrest followed a year-long investigation into the accusations, said Sgt. Rick Hardesty. Hardesty said during the course of the probe, several victims came forward with information and detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Hale, who is 53.
Hale was booked into Placer County Jail. Bail was set at $150,000.
