STOCKTON, CA - A 67-year-old man missing for more than a month was brought nearly dead to a local hospital this week, according to Stockton police.
Pedro Calderon walked away from a care center Feb. 16 and was reported missing. A Stockton police report says he was found on the south side of a vacant building on the 900 block of Waterloo Road Wednesday morning.
"There were obvious signs of trauma all over his body," Office Joe Silva said. "Right now, we're saying he's severely beaten. We're not sure if there were any instruments used, but definitely it was a very malicious attack on this victim."
At the moment, Calderon is unable to help detectives piece together what happened to him. He's in critical condition at a local hospital and unable to speak.
"I mean every once in awhile we'll get a call of a disturbance between transient people, but nothing to this level," Silva said.
Police said Calderon doesn't have family in the area. They're posting his picture in the hopes that someone might know what led up to his attack and call them.
