With just over a day before its midnight deadline on March 23, the Kickstarter campaign for Northern California's fist-ever My Little Pony convention, known as Sacramento Brony Con, has not only met its goal - it's surpassed it.

"Sac Brony Expo is an event dedicated to bringing fans of the show 'My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic' together for a fun celebration," stated Brony Con's Kickstarter page. "We are planning events, panels, and one on one experiences with popular people from the fandom."

The official Sac Brony Management Team explained even more about the convention and its Kickstarter campaign below in this video submitted to the crowdfunding website:

Sacramento Brony Con is scheduled to take place on Sept. 14 at Sacramento State University. The management team said the convention focuses upon the talent of the My Little Pony and Brony (the term for male fans of My Little Pony) communities. They stated "well-known brony musicians, visual artists, [and] writers" will be in attendance along with everybody else at the convention.

While Sacramento Brony Con has met its fundraising goal of $2,000, those interested in pledging further funds towards the campaign can do so on its official Kickstarter page.

Kickstarter began in April of 2009 as a funding platform for creative projects. Since its launch, more than $500 million have been pledged by 3 million-plus people to fund more than 35,000 creative projects. Past "kickstarted" projects include game developer Double Fine's Double Fine Adventure video game, the Pebble watch and the Ouya.
