SODA SPRINGS, CA - Stormy weather is bringing fresh snow to the Sierra and many skiers said that's great news for the slopes.

Boreal Ski Resort was quiet Tuesday night, except for a handful of skiers. They came out, hoping to get in a few runs.

Twin brothers Tim and Larry Leonkis said the snow has felt sticky and a lot like velcro at times. When they first arrived at Boreal Tuesday afternoon, it was raining. But they said they kept the faith and by around 7:30 p.m., there was a steady snow. The Leonkis brothers said fresh snow covered up the ice and softened the slopes.

"Those who gave up the the faith, gave up the mountain," Tim Leonkis said.

Ron Sylvia, the night manager at Boreal, said winter is still holding on. He said every inch of snow that falls on the slopes helps.

Night skiing at Boreal continues thru April 13. The last day for day skiing at Boreal is April 14.
