VALLEJO, CA (AP) - A suspected bank robber released from jail earlier this month is back in custody again after being arrested in Vallejo.
A spokeswoman for the FBI says Gary C. Fite, Jr. was arrested without incident by a team of FBI agents, local police and sheriff's deputies Tuesday morning.
The 22-year-old Fite had been wanted since he walked out of Contra Costa County jail on March 5. At the time of his release officials said he had been released by mistake, but sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee said Tuesday Fite had been released because charges had not been filed.
Fite had previously been arrested on suspicion of robbery and other charges after a bank robbery in Pinole on March 1.
He is due to make is his initial appearance in federal court in Oakland Wednesday morning.
