FOLSOM, Calif. - A SWAT team was dispatched to a home on Van Winkle Court in Folsom Monday after a man barricaded himself inside with his child.
According to Sgt. Jason Browning with the Folsom Police Department, officers went to the home 11:18 a.m. after the man's wife called police to alert them of a domestic violence incident.
A SWAT unit also responded and after the man released his child, officers went in and took 22-year-old Mark Weider of Rancho Cordova into custody at 1:45 p.m.
The child was unhurt.
Neighbors were told to shelter-in-place and Carl Sundahl Elementary School was placed on lockdown as precautionary measures, said Browning.
