Newark, New Jersey Mayor Cory Booker with News10 anchors Dan Elliott and Keba Arnold
SACRAMENTO, CA - Newark, New Jersey Mayor Cory Booker took a little jab at Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson after talking about childhood obesity with News10 Good Morning Friday.
Booker:
"Now you do me a favor and tell one of my favorite mayors in America, Kevin Johnson, that I said 'hello'. He's still a little jealous because I was the only mayor in America who was a starting member for a national championship basketball team. It was the British National Championship when I played in Oxford and a high school J.V. team could have beat us but I'm still smack-talking to him. I'm a better smack-talking mayor than he is and let him know he's jealous of my basketball prowess."
Johnson had this retort:
"I understand that Mayor Booker was talking a little smack. It's never been my style to talk trash, but I'd be curious to know the Mayor's stat-line from that game. Tell Mayor Booker to keep up the great work he's doing in Newark."
