ELK GROVE, Calif. - A man was arrested Thursday morning for fleeing the scene of a crash in which he was driving under the influence, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A CHP spokesperson said the man was driving southbound on Highway 99 just south of Elk Grove when he veered over onto the shoulder, clipped a tree and hit a concrete wall.
The man then abandoned his vehicle and ran from the scene, according to the CHP.
He was found shortly thereafter, at which point he was determined to be under the influence, and arrested, CHP said.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
