SACRAMENTO - A landmark of the K Street marketplace for the past 10 years abruptly closed their doors on Monday morning.

Pyramid Alehouse announced on their Facebook and Twitter pages Monday morning that they would be closing for good in Sacramento.

"As of today, Monday, March 4, the Sacramento Pyramid Alehouse has permanently closed its doors. It's been an amazing 10 years and we want to thank all of our loyal customers who have become friends."

Pyramid fans were quick to respond with shock and genuine disappointment over the departure of the brewery and restaurant.

"One of my favorite spots in Sac. Sad to see you go. Good luck to the staff," said Michelle Valente.

"Devastated to see such a wonderful place close. So many awesome memories here! Best of luck to the Pyramid staff! Love you guys," seconded Michelle L. MacAidam.

The Sacramento restaurant, who was one of four Pyramid Alehouses, expressed similar sentiments in their only Facebook response to requests for more information.

"Trust us, this is just as much of a shock to our employees as it is to you all. We are devastated by this news."

80 people were employed at Pyramid.

News10 reached out to Pyramid's corporate offices in Seattle but have yet to receive a response to our request for information on the closing.
