NORTH HIGHLANDS, Calif. - The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department called their SWAT team out after a man and woman allegedly burglarized a credit union Sunday morning, and then barricaded themselves inside.

Sheriff's dispatch received a call of a burglary around 8:30 a.m. at the Safe Credit Union at Madison Avenue and Airbase Drive in North Highlands after loud noises were heard coming from the bank.

Sergeant Jason Ramos said deputies believe the sounds were made when Cody Muscarella and Angelic Gonzalez smashed their way into the bank.

Deputies established contact with Gonzalez over the phone, but she said she was afraid to come out of the building because she was worried there was a group of people outside that would get her, said Ramos.

The SWAT team responded to the scene, entered the building, and took Muscarella and Gonzalez into custody without incident.
