NORTH HIGHLANDS, Calif. - A person was hospitalized Wednesday night after being wounded in an apparent random shooting in the North Highlands area.
According to a Sacramento County sheriff's spokesperson, dispatch received a call at 11:20 p.m. of a shooting on the 3700 block of Payne Way in North Highlands.
Deputies arrived at the scene and during an investigation, discovered the victim had been followed by a dark vehicle prior to the shooting.
The gunshot victim's injuries were described as non-life threatening.
No information was provided on the victim or any suspects.
