WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sacramento's business economy took some major hits in 2012 with large employers like Campbell's and Hostess announcing closures. But a local sports team is doing their part to make 2013 a better year for job seekers.
The Sacramento River Cats have 150 seasonal positions available in their guest services, crowd control, parking attendant, promotions crew, cleaning and grounds crew departments.
If the thought of working around baseball at a beautiful ballpark appeals to you, these could be ideal opportunities. Furthermore, many River Cats seasonal employees return to their positions year after year.
Some seasonal workers have been with the team since they came to town 13 years ago, and have been coming back for their seasonal position every year, said a River Cats spokesman.
The promotions crew is great for college students - it's a high energy job. For the older crowd, what's known as a 'red shirt' spot may work for you - that includes ushers and ticket takers.
You don't need to know a lot about baseball - you just need to love working around people.
To apply, go to rivercats.com and follow the link on their main page that takes you to a site where you can apply for available positions.
