MERIDIAN, CA - A man lost his life when his 1991 Honda Accord traveled down a steep embankment and overturned in a water-filled ditch Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident was on Tarke Road at Moroni Road at about 9:50 a.m. in the town of Meridian in Sutter County.
The CHP described the location as a curve in the dirt roadway.
Officers said the driver, who was believed to be 74 years old and from Yuba City, was not wearing a seat belt. The victim has not been formally identified.
Investigators did not know if a medical condition, alcohol or drugs played a part in the crash.
