STOCKTON, CA - An eighth grade student at Cleveland Elementary School in Stockton was detained Friday morning following reports of a gun on campus.
According to Stockton Unified School Police Chief Jim West, the school was placed on lockdown after several students reported overhearing other children talking about someone having a gun on campus.
Police initiated a search of the classrooms and students' backpacks, during which time they found a replica pellet gun in an eighth-grade boy's bag.
The student was detained and questioned.
The boy's identity was not revealed due to his age.
