CERES, CA - A teacher at a Ceres charter school was arrested  Wednesday afternoon following allegations of child molestation and exchanging inappropriate materials with a minor.

In a letter issued to parents of students at Whitmore Charter High School, Ceres Unified School District Superintendent Scott Siegel said Matthew Tristan Beale, 24, was charged with unlawful contact with a minor using an electronic device, and unlawful physical contact with a minor.

"Mr. Beale is no longer an employee of the Ceres Unified School District, and we are doing all we can to assure that he cannot be on the grounds of any of the schools and that he is prohibited from contacting students, parents or staff members," Siegel detailed in the letter.

Siegel said the incident appears to be isolated to one student, but anyone with additional information was encouraged to call Detective Hively at (209) 538-5712.

Beale's bail was set at $10,000.
