SONOMA, CA - News10's sports producer Sean Cunningham got a rare, driver's-eye view of a high-speed NASCAR stock car on Tuesday, before this weekend's Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway.
Napa area NASCAR driver and coach Chris Cook, who has instructed drivers including Tony Stewart, Joey Logano and Clint Bowyer, drove Cunningham through a few laps at Sonoma Raceway.
Cook has competed in the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series, and will race the No. 19 Humphrey Smith Motorsports Toyota at the Toyota/Save Mart 350.
This year's race weekend begins Friday, June 22 with qualifying and conclude Sunday with the 110 lap Toyota/Save Mart 350 beginning at noon.
Joey Logano won the pole last year, but it was Kurt Busch who celebrated in the Wine Country Winner's Circle with the victory.
