SACRAMENTO, CA - A home burglary and a car crash lead to the arrest of a teen Tuesday afternoon.

Witnesses driving by a home on the 2500 block of Marty Way reported seeing two subjects walking out of the house with computers and get into a car with personalized plates, Sacramento Police Sgt. Andrew Pettit said.

As police were en route to the home, dispatchers reported a traffic accident at the intersection of Sutterville and Freeport with the car seen at the home burglary, Pettit said.

Witnesses at the scene of the crash said they saw the subjects taking the computers and a rifle out of the car and hiding them in the bushes.

Pettit said when police arrived they detained the driver of the car; the second subject walked away from the scene after the crash.

The 17-year-old suspect was taken into custody and headed to juvenile hall, Pettit said. The vehicle was impounded.
