Stockton police lock down the scene of the gun fight, near El Dorado Elementary School, on Tuesday Feb. 7.
STOCKTON, CA - One man was injured, and another being detained, after a gun battle between two groups of people at the intersection of Van Buren Street and Harding Way in Stockton.
The violence broke out at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday when one car pulled up on a parked SUV. Police weren't clear exactly what happened next, but it was clear a lot of rounds were fired, with bullet casings found through out that area.

El Dorado Elementary School, and the Stockton School for Adults, both located across the street, went into lockdown while police searched for suspects.
Police had little information on the suspects, only that they left in a western direction from the shooting scene.
The man who was shot was expected to live. A nearby office and another parked vehicle, belonging to a teacher, were also hit by gunfire.
