House explosion on Ainsely
YUBA CITY - A Yuba City neighborhood was forced to evacuate after a house explosion on Monday morning.
Shawna Pavey, Operations Support Manager for Yuba City, said the report of an explosion from a house on Ainsley Ave came in around 10 a.m. The house then caught fire and neighbors say they saw someone run outside and then into the side yard.
No one was injured in the explosion, but 20-year-old Christian Hernandez was detained for questioning. Hernandez was in the house when the explosion occurred. Hernandez also has outstanding drug warrants in Butte County.
As a precaution, the homes on Ainsley Avenue and behind it were evacuated until the fire department figured out what caused the blast.
