CARMICHAEL, CA - Sacramento County sheriff's deputies investigate the thief of memorial plaques at Carmichael Park.
The thieves are responsible for stealing from the Wall of Honor, which memorializes Carmichael residents who were first responders in law enforcement and medical professionals, members of the U.S. military and people who lost their lives while on duty.
Deputy Jason Ramos said the plaques were taken over the weekend. The thieves took the dedication plaques, which is 24" by 24" and weigh 10 pounds. Ramos said four individual plaques, which are the size of a steno pad and weigh 1.5 pounds each, were also stolen.
Ramos said the five plaques are made of bronze.
