SACRAMENTO -- Guess who's finally on Twitter? Michelle Obama. On Thursday, people everywhere were welcoming her to the social media site using "Welcome to Twitter" in their post. When I last checked, she was at over 166,000 followers.
So will the first lady be tweeting herself? Well, sometimes. Many of the tweets will come from her staff, but she does plan to post a few of her own. These will be tagged with -MO.
Early in the morning twitter was buzzing with the People's Choice Awards, but that quickly faded as news came out that Avatar 2 is being delayed. Yes, fans are going to have to wait even longer. Instead of coming out in 2014 as planned, the film is now scheduled for a 2016 release.
In local Sacramento news, people were talking about mall security scanning their license plates. While it's a great crime fighting tool for finding stolen cars, many still thought it was violation of their privacy - especially as they had no idea this was going on.
When it came to Stockton's proposed Marshall Plan, feelings were mixed. Some thought it was a great idea and should also be done in Oakland, while others thought it was going too far and probably wouldn't help the situation. What they think will help is more jobs and ways to boost the economy in the area.
Finally, Snowballs and Ding Dongs were on people's mind. This is because Hostess declared bankruptcy so people were reminiscing about their favorite Hostess treats.
