SACRAMENTO, CA - Starting Jan. 1, minors as young as 12 could start receiving the Human Papaloma Virus, HPV, vaccine without consent of their parents.

Gov. Jerry Brown signed the bill over the weekend. Under the bill, children will also be able to get other STD prevention treatments, including new medicines that help prevent HIV infection if given within 72 hours of exposure.
