PENNSYLVANIA - Students at a Pennsylvania university can now purchase morning after birth control pills from an on-campus vending machine.
Shippensburg University is selling the Plan-B birth control pill for $25 from a vending machine in the health center.
Dr. Roger Serr said the university made the decision to carry the pill because 85% of the student population supported the idea.
In the first year the pill has been available on campus almost 400 doses have been sold.
"We were uncomfortable providing it for free because that would mean we were supporting PLAN B with either state money or fee money.
The pill can be sold to anyone over-the-counter who is over age 17.
