SACRAMENTO, CA - While detectives investigate a possible drug-related motive in a weekend shooting death at a 7-11 store, officers arrested a man who may have pulled the trigger, according to Sacramento police.
Sacramento police Sgt. Norm Leong said officers arrested Carlton Reid, 35, near P and 16th Streets Monday night.
Leong said detectives believe Reid knew the victim, 39-year-old Gregory Lewis, and say the shooting was narcotic-related.
According to Leong in a press release, Lewis was talking to another man while parked outside of a 7-11 store on West El Camino Avenue and Northgate Boulevard at 1:40 a.m. Saturday. After a short conversation, officers say the man shot Lewis.
