FAIRFIELD, CA - Solano County sheriff's detectives have taken a man into custody in connection with the murder of a woman Sunday in Fairfield.
Lt. Gary Faulkner with the Solano County Sheriff's Office said the identity of the victim, who was found dead in a home on the 4900 block of N Gate Road about 1:30 p.m., has not been confirmed.
Sheriff's deputies responded to the residence for a report there had been a possible homicide, Faulkner said. After interviewing several witnesses at the home, detectives questioned and arrested Juan Jaimes-Mendoza, 33, of Fairfield for murder early Monday morning, Faulkner said.
Information on how the victim died and a motive has not been revealed by investigators.
Jaimes-Mendoza was booked into Solano County Jail on no bail.
