SACRAMENTO, CA - There are nine proposals on the table for a new sports and entertainment venue in Sacramento. The Sacramento First Task Force announced the locations and groups behind the proposals Tuesday.
Sacramento Railyards
This project combines regional mass transit, large-scale community events, arts and entertainment venues in downtown Sacramento.
Thomas Enterprises, Inc.
Sacramento Railyards
An entertainment and sports complex on city-owned property, south of the recently-aligned train tracks and within the railyards boundary plan
The Kamilos Company
Downtown Westfield Plaza
The project would be on city-owned property on the northeast corner of 3rd and L streets.
Tripp Development
Sacramento Docks
Venue would be located in downtown Sacramento immediately next to Old Sacramento and bounded by the Sacramento River on the west, by Capitol Mall on the north, Interstate 5 on the east and Broadway on the south.
M&M Group
Cal Expo
This proposal includes an arena and theme park at the California State Fairgrounds locations off Exposition Drive.

The site is 100 acres owned by the city next to and north of ARCO Arena and south of Del Paso Road.

Downtown Westfield Plaza
The venue would be built on the east end of Westfield Plaza. Retail, restaurants and a park are part of the plan.

Existing Cal Expo Proposal
The task force will hold an open house on Jan. 14 to allow the public to review the complete proposals from each group. The location and time was not immediately known.
The task force is comprised of 12 volunteers who are experts in the fields of business, design, development, labor, arts and communications.
