
The Knitting Factory, a new 1,200-seat concert house in downtown Reno, has announced its initial lineup of shows. The all-ages venue, formerly home of Rocky's Sports Bar, 211 N. Virginia St., is expected to open by the end of December following a $1 million rebuild of the space.

Knitting Factory's own box office will sell tickets on days that it's
open for shows, and will also sell tickets through Recycled Records at
3344 Kietzke Lane.
Jan. 7: Gloriana, a Nashville country-pop band. Cost: $15.
Jan. 8: Switchfoot, the San Diego rock band behind "Meant to Live." Cost: $21.
Jan. 10: Reel Big Fish, the ska-punk band best-known for "Sellout." Cost: To be announced.
Jan. 15: Candlebox, the Seattle rock band of "Far Behind" fame. Cost: $22.
Jan. 16: AFI, the punk-pop band behind "Miss Murder" and "Bleed Black." Cost: $24.
Jan. 17: Chicago jam band Umphrey's McGee. Cost: $20.
Jan. 23: Latin Lockdown featuring Lil' Rob. Cost: $25.
Feb. 11: Badfish, a Sublime tribute band. Cost: $15.
Feb. 26: Gospel choir Blind Boys of Alabama. Cost: $22.
March 6: West Coast rapper Andre Nikatina. Cost: $21.
March 7: Young Dubliners, the Celtic rock band by way of L.A. Cost: $16.

15: Brandi Carlile, the singer-songwriter behind "The Story." Cost:
$20, a significant price cut from the last two times when she played at
John Ascuaga's Nugget for $45.
