FAIRFIELD, CA -- The Salvation Army of Fairfield is seeing a greater need for help this holiday.

The location has seen a 65 percent increase in the number of applications from last year, according to a spokeswoman. They've already recorded 585 applications.

"At this point I am unsure how we will provide everything disadvantaged families in our area will need to have a nice Christmas," said Major Willdonna Rich, Salvation Army of Fairfield Corps Officer.

"It is my hope that generous members of the public will be able to help us meet this increased need so that everyone has what they need to ensure a happy holiday for their family," Rich said.

The Salvation Army of Fairfield offers holiday food boxes, toys for children and clothing, depending on supply.

They're asking for monetary donations which can be sent to:

The Salvation Army-Fairfield Corps

Attn: Christmas Assistance

1216 Missouri Street

Fairfield, CA 94533
