YOLO COUNTY, CA - California Highway Patrol investigators are still determining whether seat belts and a car seat were being used in a vehicle rollover in Woodland Monday afternoon. The crash left a 10-year-old girl dead and two siblings and her parents injured.
A car traveling at a high rate of speed overturned at Main Street and County Road 103 at 1:19 p.m., said Sgt. Dan Seaman. Three of the five members of a family in the car were ejected, he said.
The daughter died at the scene from major injuries, Seaman said. Her father and 1-year-old brother suffered major injuries and her mother and another sibling had moderate injuries, according to Seaman. They were taken to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento for treatment.
Seaman said the father, who was driving, may have been under the influence of alcohol.
CHP Officer Ken Walter told News10 Tuesday that DUI and child endangerment charges were possible.
No names have been released.
