UC BERKELEY, CA - It was a lot like 1968 -- students shouting, police in riot gear and protesters resisting arrest.

The occupation of a campus building at UC Berkeley in a protest over fee hikes and budget cuts came to a peaceful end Friday night.

University officials said 41 demonstrators who had barricaded themselves inside Wheeler Hall were arrested on suspicion of trespassing Friday evening after an all-day occupation of the building.

The demonstrators were protesting a 32 percent increase in student fees and job program cuts.
